Union of Russian Writers on Red Square

The eighth annual Red Square Book Festival will take place in Moscow in 2022. Writers from the Union of Russian Writers traditionally take part in the festival. The festival will also include a charity event ‘Give a Book to a Child’.

The Main Stage will host a variety of events, including the opening and closing ceremonies of the festival, as well as the presentation of awards. The Malaya stage will provide an opportunity to learn about new books, take part in literary contests and quizzes, and attend lectures by interesting writers and popular bloggers.

One of the highlights of the festival is the booth of ASPI (Association of Writers and Publishers), where the Union of Russian Writers presented its literary almanacs Steamboat and Ice and Flame, collections of women’s prose Daughter-mother, News of a Woman, as well as books by famous writers Svetlana Vasilenko, Nadezhda Azhgikhina, Maria Bregman, Olga Kharlamova and others. The writers will be signing books and meeting fans.

In addition to the main festival, the Festival of National Literatures will take place on Red Square. This event is designed to introduce readers to outstanding works of regional and national literature. Festival guests will also be able to take part in a charity event entitled ‘Give a book to a child’. Just drop a book into a special box.

The Red Square Book Festival is an event book lovers won’t want to miss. It’s a great opportunity to get acquainted with the work of both Russian and foreign writers.

We look forward to seeing you at the Red Square Book Festival from June 3 to 6, 2022!
